Welcome To Lake Toba

Welcome to Lake Toba!

A trip to North Sumatra, or Indonesia for that matter, would not be complete without a visit to the beautiful and world’s largest volcanic lake – Lake Toba.

Lake Toba is home to the Batak people who have a unique, interesting culture and are mostly Christian. Batak people are very friendly and welcoming -they love music and singing.
Samosir Island is located in the center of the lake. Ferries regularly depart from Parapat to take to you Samosir Island. Most of the hotels and guesthouses are located in the area of Tuk Tuk on Samosir Island.
Many people who go to Lake Toba plan to only spend a few days there, but often those days turn into week
